I’m from Philly, and I did not find a single mention of her on any of the main news stations.

Fuck anyone who dares say trans* women of color are not oppressed, or that they have some magical privilege.

Yeah, being shot in the head and then having your death completely fucking ignored is such a fucking privilege.

I’ve been holding off on posting this deliberately because I wanted to be thorough about checking out the usual mainstream feminist and queer news sites to see if they’ve reported on this tragedy. Surprise, surprise, most of them don’t mention Kyra at all. Just more bullshit that reads like a whiny white cis gossip column.

Pro-tip: if you’re not concerned about violence and assault against trans women of color first and foremost, fellow white cis queers and feminists, you’re useless and completely fucking irrelevant.
